    Cross-site Scripting (XSS)

net.sourceforge.pmd:pmd-core is an extensible multilanguage static code analyzer.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting (XSS) via the vbhtml or yahtml report formats, which include rule violation messages in HTML output, in renderFileViolations() and renderClasses() respectively, without escaping. An attacker can include malicious string literals in the source code being analyzed, which are then rendered unescaped in the generated HTML report.

Note: The default html report format is not subject to this vulnerability.

How to fix Cross-site Scripting (XSS)?

Upgrade net.sourceforge.pmd:pmd-core to version 7.22.0 or higher.
