Improper Validation of Integrity Check Value

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Validation of Integrity Check Value via the unmarshal() method in the Crypto PGP component. An attacker can modify encrypted data in transit or supply a legacy symmetrically encrypted OpenPGP packet, which has no modification detection code and bypasses the integrity check, causing Camel routes to process altered plaintext as if it were intact. The existing integrity option applies only to marshalling and has no decrypt-side counterpart, so deployments cannot require integrity protection for messages they accept. Because signature verification is optional, a message without a signature may also be accepted.

    Workarounds

    • Reject messages that do not use the integrity-protected OpenPGP packet before they reach the PGP data format, preventing legacy packets without a modification detection code from being processed.

How to fix Improper Validation of Integrity Check Value?
