    Incorrect Privilege Assignment

    Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Privilege Assignment through the user self-service workflow handling in UserSelfLogic, UserCR/UserUR, and DefaultUserWorkflowAdapter. An attacker can grant themselves defined roles and their entitlements by submitting a self-registration or self-update REST request that includes privileged changes instead of only basic profile data. In deployments using the all-Java workflow adapter, or the Flowable adapter with a BPMN definition that does not force approval for such requests, the workflow processes the change without admin review and the user becomes effectively an administrator based on the roles available in that Syncope instance.

    How to fix Incorrect Privilege Assignment?

    Upgrade org.apache.syncope.core:syncope-core-workflow-java to version 4.0.7, 4.1.2 or higher.
