    Origin Validation Error

    org.jboss.resteasy:resteasy-core-spi is a JBoss.org project aimed at providing productivity frameworks for developing client and server RESTful applications and services in Java.

    Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Origin Validation Error via the response and preflight handling in org.jboss.resteasy.plugins.interceptors.CorsFilter. An attacker can read authenticated cross-origin responses by sending requests from a malicious origin when allowedOrigins contains "*" and the filter reflects that concrete Origin back with Access-Control-Allow-Credentials: true. The vulnerable code accepts any origin under the wildcard configuration and emits Access-Control-Allow-Origin for the request origin rather than a literal wildcard, while also allowing credentials. In a browser, that lets an attacker-controlled site use the victim’s session to fetch and exfiltrate per-user data exposed by REST endpoints.
