    Cross-site Scripting (XSS)

    @jupyterlab/extensionmanager is a JupyterLab - Extension Manager

    Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting (XSS) via unsanitized handling of the homepage_url field in the extension manager. An attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript in the context of the application by publishing a malicious package with a crafted URL in its metadata and convincing a user to click the extension name in the extension manager.

    Note: This is only exploitable if the Extension Manager is enabled with the default PyPI source and the malicious package appears in the victim's list or search results.

    How to fix Cross-site Scripting (XSS)?

    Upgrade @jupyterlab/extensionmanager to version 4.6.0-rc.0 or higher.
