    Improperly Controlled Modification of Dynamically-Determined Object Attributes

    @payloadcms/db-mongodb is a The officially supported MongoDB database adapter for Payload

    Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improperly Controlled Modification of Dynamically-Determined Object Attributes via the beforeValidate hook's array and blocks field processing, when null or non-object values are present in array or blocks field rows. An authenticated attacker can submit a document payload containing null entries in array or blocks fields, bypassing downstream validation logic that expects plain objects - for example, property assignment such as row.blockType = ... - which can corrupt document data and allow unintended writes to the database.

    How to fix Improperly Controlled Modification of Dynamically-Determined Object Attributes?

    Upgrade @payloadcms/db-mongodb to version 3.87.0, 4.0.0-canary.20 or higher.

    Missing Authorization

    @payloadcms/db-mongodb is a The officially supported MongoDB database adapter for Payload

    Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Missing Authorization via the contains query operator on relationship, upload, and join fields, where access control filters injected for a related collection are not scoped to the same document as the user's filter. An unauthenticated remote attacker can craft a nested contains query that causes the access constraint and the user-supplied filter to resolve against different related documents, allowing the attacker to read data from related collections that should be restricted by access control rules.

    How to fix Missing Authorization?

    Upgrade @payloadcms/db-mongodb to version 3.90.0, 4.0.0-canary.34 or higher.

    <3.90.0>=4.0.0-canary.0 <4.0.0-canary.34
