Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS)

htmllint is an unofficial html5 linter and validator.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) attacks. It used a regular expression (/^([a-z][a-z\d]*(-[a-z\d]+)*(--[a-z\d]+)*(__[a-z\d]+)*)+$/) in order to validate data URLs. This can cause an impact of about 10 seconds matching time for data 15 characters long.

How to fix Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS)?

Upgrade htmllint to version 0.7.2 or higher.
