Permissive Cross-domain Policy with Untrusted Domains

vibe-trading-ai is a Natural-language finance research AI agent with backtesting

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Permissive Cross-domain Policy with Untrusted Domains via the API server in agent/api_server.py, which skips authentication entirely when the API_AUTH_KEY environment variable is not set, allowing any remote attacker to reach all API endpoints without credentials. An unauthenticated remote attacker can invoke sensitive endpoints - including shell tool execution and session management - over the network, leading to full confidentiality, integrity, and availability compromise of the host. The fix enforces that unauthenticated (dev-mode) access is restricted to loopback clients only, and raises HTTP 403 for any non-local request when no key is configured.

Note: This is only exploitable when a real LLM API key is configured and the service is reachable from non-loopback network interfaces.

How to fix Permissive Cross-domain Policy with Untrusted Domains?

Upgrade vibe-trading-ai to version 0.1.7 or higher.

Files or Directories Accessible to External Parties

vibe-trading-ai is a Natural-language finance research AI agent with backtesting

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Files or Directories Accessible to External Parties via the API server in agent/api_server.py, where the require_auth dependency skips authentication entirely when the API_AUTH_KEY environment variable is not set, regardless of whether the client is connecting from a remote network address. An unauthenticated remote attacker can call any protected API endpoint - including those that trigger trading actions, session management, and tool execution - without supplying any credentials, gaining full read access to sensitive data exposed by those endpoints.

How to fix Files or Directories Accessible to External Parties?

Upgrade vibe-trading-ai to version 0.1.7 or higher.

    Server-side Request Forgery (SSRF)

vibe-trading-ai is a Natural-language finance research AI agent with backtesting

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Server-side Request Forgery (SSRF) via the API server's unauthenticated access path, which allows a remote attacker to reach sensitive endpoints without a valid API key when API_AUTH_KEY is not configured. In dev mode, the server previously skipped all authentication regardless of the client's origin, permitting any network-reachable client to invoke privileged tool endpoints including shell execution tools. An attacker can exploit this to achieve arbitrary command execution on the host.

How to fix Server-side Request Forgery (SSRF)?

Upgrade vibe-trading-ai to version 0.1.7 or higher.
