CWE-428  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade AlmaLinux:8 openssh-server to version 0:8.0p1-19.el8_8 or higher.
This issue was patched in ALSA-2023:4419.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openssh-server package and not the openssh-server package as distributed by AlmaLinux. See How to fix? for AlmaLinux:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

The PKCS#11 feature in ssh-agent in OpenSSH before 9.3p2 has an insufficiently trustworthy search path, leading to remote code execution if an agent is forwarded to an attacker-controlled system. (Code in /usr/lib is not necessarily safe for loading into ssh-agent.) NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2016-10009.
