NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream curl package and not the curl package as distributed by Alpine. See How to fix? for Alpine:3.24 relevant fixed versions and status.

By default, curl automatically responds to WebSocket PING frames. Because curl lacks an upper bound on memory allocation for unacknowledged frames, a malicious server can exhaust all available memory by flooding curl with rapid, sequential PING messages.
