NVD Description
Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream cloud-init
package and not the cloud-init
package as distributed by Amazon-Linux
.
See How to fix?
for Amazon-Linux:2
relevant fixed versions and status.
cloud-init through 19.4 relies on Mersenne Twister for a random password, which makes it easier for attackers to predict passwords, because rand_str in cloudinit/util.py calls the random.choice function.
