How to fix?

Upgrade Amazon-Linux:2 cups-client to version 1:1.6.3-51.amzn2.0.4 or higher.
This issue was patched in ALAS2-2023-2293.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream cups-client package and not the cups-client package as distributed by Amazon-Linux. See How to fix? for Amazon-Linux:2 relevant fixed versions and status.

Due to failure in validating the length provided by an attacker-crafted PPD PostScript document, CUPS and libppd are susceptible to a heap-based buffer overflow and possibly code execution. This issue has been fixed in CUPS version 2.4.7, released in September of 2023.
