Upgrade Amazon-Linux:2018.03 389-ds-base to version 0:1.3.7.5-28.58.amzn1 or higher.
This issue was patched in ALAS-2018-1094.

A flaw was found in the 389 Directory Server that allows users to cause a crash in the LDAP server using ldapsearch with server side sort.
