CWE-310  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Amazon-Linux:2018.03 openldap-clients to version 0:2.4.40-12.30.amzn1 or higher.
This issue was patched in ALAS-2017-799.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openldap-clients package and not the openldap-clients package as distributed by Amazon-Linux. See How to fix? for Amazon-Linux:2018.03 relevant fixed versions and status.

The nss_parse_ciphers function in libraries/libldap/tls_m.c in OpenLDAP does not properly parse OpenSSL-style multi-keyword mode cipher strings, which might cause a weaker than intended cipher to be used and allow remote attackers to have unspecified impact via unknown vectors.
