NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream postgresql9-upgrade package and not the postgresql9-upgrade package as distributed by Amazon-Linux. See How to fix? for Amazon-Linux:2018.03 relevant fixed versions and status.

PostgreSQL 9.2.x before 9.2.4 and 9.1.x before 9.1.9 does not properly check REPLICATION privileges, which allows remote authenticated users to bypass intended backup restrictions by calling the (1) pg_start_backup or (2) pg_stop_backup functions.
