NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream kernel-livepatch-5.15.29-16.111 package and not the kernel-livepatch-5.15.29-16.111 package as distributed by Amazon-Linux. See How to fix? for Amazon-Linux:2022 relevant fixed versions and status.

In the Linux kernel before 5.17.3, fs/io_uring.c has a use-after-free due to a race condition in io_uring timeouts. This can be triggered by a local user who has no access to any user namespace; however, the race condition perhaps can only be exploited infrequently.
