CWE-94  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Amazon-Linux:2023 openssh-keycat-debuginfo to version 0:8.7p1-8.amzn2023.0.7 or higher.
This issue was patched in ALAS2023-2023-273.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openssh-keycat-debuginfo package and not the openssh-keycat-debuginfo package as distributed by Amazon-Linux. See How to fix? for Amazon-Linux:2023 relevant fixed versions and status.

The PKCS#11 feature in ssh-agent in OpenSSH before 9.3p2 has an insufficiently trustworthy search path, leading to remote code execution if an agent is forwarded to an attacker-controlled system. (Code in /usr/lib is not necessarily safe for loading into ssh-agent.) NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2016-10009.
