CWE-200  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Centos:6 kernel-debug to version 0:2.6.32-71.14.1.el6 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream kernel-debug package and not the kernel-debug package as distributed by Centos. See How to fix? for Centos:6 relevant fixed versions and status.

The ethtool_get_rxnfc function in net/core/ethtool.c in the Linux kernel before 2.6.36 does not initialize a certain block of heap memory, which allows local users to obtain potentially sensitive information via an ETHTOOL_GRXCLSRLALL ethtool command with a large info.rule_cnt value, a different vulnerability than CVE-2010-2478.
