NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream perl-suidperl package and not the perl-suidperl package as distributed by Centos. See How to fix? for Centos:6 relevant fixed versions and status.

Crypt::PasswdMD5 versions through 1.42 for Perl generates insecure random values for salts.

The built-in rand function is predictable, and unsuitable for cryptography.
