NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream pidgin package and not the pidgin package as distributed by Centos. See How to fix? for Centos:6 relevant fixed versions and status.

The IRC protocol plugin in libpurple in Pidgin before 2.10.8 does not validate argument counts, which allows remote IRC servers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted message.
