CVE-2020-15778  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-77  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Centos:8 openssh-clients to version 0:8.0p1-24.el8 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openssh-clients package and not the openssh-clients package as distributed by Centos. See How to fix? for Centos:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

scp in OpenSSH through 8.3p1 allows command injection in the scp.c toremote function, as demonstrated by backtick characters in the destination argument. NOTE: the vendor reportedly has stated that they intentionally omit validation of "anomalous argument transfers" because that could "stand a great chance of breaking existing workflows."
