CWE-502  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Centos:8 python38-cffi to version 0:1.13.2-3.module+el8.2.0+5234+f98739b6 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream python38-cffi package and not the python38-cffi package as distributed by Centos. See How to fix? for Centos:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

PyYAML 5.1 through 5.1.2 has insufficient restrictions on the load and load_all functions because of a class deserialization issue, e.g., Popen is a class in the subprocess module. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2017-18342.
