NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream eco-python-curl package and not the eco-python-curl package as distributed by Chainguard. See How to fix? for Chainguard relevant fixed versions and status.

By default, curl automatically responds to WebSocket PING frames. Because curl lacks an upper bound on memory allocation for unacknowledged frames, a malicious server can exhaust all available memory by flooding curl with rapid, sequential PING messages.
