CVE-2005-1267  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:11 tcpdump to version 3.9.0.cvs.20050614-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream tcpdump package and not the tcpdump package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:11 relevant fixed versions and status.

The bgp_update_print function in tcpdump 3.x does not properly handle a -1 return value from the decode_prefix4 function, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) via a crafted BGP packet.
