How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:12 encfs to version 1.8.1-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream encfs package and not the encfs package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:12 relevant fixed versions and status.

The ".encfs6.xml" configuration file in encfs before 1.7.5 allows remote attackers to access sensitive data by setting "blockMACBytes" to 0 and adding 8 to "blockMACRandBytes".
