CWE-399  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:12 unbound to version 1.4.14-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream unbound package and not the unbound package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:12 relevant fixed versions and status.

Unbound before 1.4.13p2 attempts to free unallocated memory during processing of duplicate CNAME records in a signed zone, which allows remote DNS servers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via a crafted response.
