CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:9 amarok to version 1.4.4-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream amarok package and not the amarok package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:9 relevant fixed versions and status.

The ruby handlers in the Magnatune component in Amarok do not properly quote text in certain contexts, probably including construction of an unzip command line, which allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands via shell metacharacters.
