CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:9 pure-ftpd to version 1.0.32-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream pure-ftpd package and not the pure-ftpd package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:9 relevant fixed versions and status.

The glob implementation in Pure-FTPd before 1.0.32, and in libc in NetBSD 5.1, does not properly expand expressions containing curly brackets, which allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a crafted FTP STAT command.
