CVE-2011-1930  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:unstable klibc to version 1.5.22-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream klibc package and not the klibc package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

In klibc 1.5.20 and 1.5.21, the DHCP options written by ipconfig to /tmp/net-$DEVICE.conf are not properly escaped. This may allow a remote attacker to send a specially crafted DHCP reply which could execute arbitrary code with the privileges of any process which sources DHCP options.
