NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream libdata-validate-ip-perl package and not the libdata-validate-ip-perl package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

The Data::Validate::IP module through 0.29 for Perl does not properly consider extraneous zero characters at the beginning of an IP address string, which (in some situations) allows attackers to bypass access control that is based on IP addresses.
