CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:unstable net-snmp to version 5.4.3~dfsg-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream net-snmp package and not the net-snmp package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

The netsnmp_udp_fmtaddr function (snmplib/snmpUDPDomain.c) in net-snmp 5.0.9 through 5.4.2.1, when using TCP wrappers for client authorization, does not properly parse hosts.allow rules, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions and execute SNMP queries, related to "source/destination IP address confusion."
