CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:unstable pidgin to version 2.10.1-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream pidgin package and not the pidgin package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

The XMPP protocol plugin in libpurple in Pidgin before 2.10.1 does not properly handle missing fields in (1) voice-chat and (2) video-chat stanzas, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted message.
