CVE-2019-20477  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-502  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:unstable pyyaml to version 5.2-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream pyyaml package and not the pyyaml package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

PyYAML 5.1 through 5.1.2 has insufficient restrictions on the load and load_all functions because of a class deserialization issue, e.g., Popen is a class in the subprocess module. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2017-18342.
