CVE-2009-3490  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-310  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:unstable wget to version 1.12-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream wget package and not the wget package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

GNU Wget before 1.12 does not properly handle a '\0' character in a domain name in the Common Name field of an X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle remote attackers to spoof arbitrary SSL servers via a crafted certificate issued by a legitimate Certification Authority, a related issue to CVE-2009-2408.
