CVE-2009-2335 Open this link in a new tabHow to fix?
Upgrade Debian:unstable
wordpress
to version 2.8.3-1 or higher.
NVD Description
Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream wordpress
package and not the wordpress
package as distributed by Debian
.
See How to fix?
for Debian:unstable
relevant fixed versions and status.
WordPress and WordPress MU before 2.8.1 exhibit different behavior for a failed login attempt depending on whether the user account exists, which allows remote attackers to enumerate valid usernames. NOTE: the vendor reportedly disputes the significance of this issue, indicating that the behavior exists for "user convenience."
