CWE-131  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Oracle:5 gnutls to version 0:1.4.1-16.el5_10 or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2014-0594.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream gnutls package and not the gnutls package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:5 relevant fixed versions and status.

The asn1_get_bit_der function in GNU Libtasn1 before 3.6 does not properly report an error when a negative bit length is identified, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause out-of-bounds access via crafted ASN.1 data.
