CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Oracle:5 kernel-headers to version 0:2.6.18-274.18.1.0.1.el5 or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2012-0107.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream kernel-headers package and not the kernel-headers package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:5 relevant fixed versions and status.

The robust futex implementation in the Linux kernel before 2.6.28 does not properly handle processes that make exec system calls, which allows local users to cause a denial of service or possibly gain privileges by writing to a memory location in a child process.
