CWE-306  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Oracle:5 krb5-libs to version 0:1.5-23 or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2007-0095.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream krb5-libs package and not the krb5-libs package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:5 relevant fixed versions and status.

The telnet daemon (telnetd) in MIT krb5 before 1.6.1 allows remote attackers to bypass authentication and gain system access via a username beginning with a '-' character, a similar issue to CVE-2007-0882.
