CWE-119  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Oracle:5 libxslt-python to version 0:1.1.17-2.0.1.el5_1.1 or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2008-0287.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream libxslt-python package and not the libxslt-python package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:5 relevant fixed versions and status.

Buffer overflow in pattern.c in libxslt before 1.1.24 allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via an XSL style sheet file with a long XSLT "transformation match" condition that triggers a large number of steps.
