How to fix?

Upgrade Oracle:5 openssl-perl to version 0:0.9.8b-10.el5_2.1 or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2009-0004.

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openssl-perl package and not the openssl-perl package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:5 relevant fixed versions and status.

OpenSSL 0.9.8i and earlier does not properly check the return value from the EVP_VerifyFinal function, which allows remote attackers to bypass validation of the certificate chain via a malformed SSL/TLS signature for DSA and ECDSA keys.
