CVE-2023-38408  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-428  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Oracle:6 openssh-clients to version 0:5.3p1-124.0.2.el6_10 or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2023-4428.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openssh-clients package and not the openssh-clients package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:6 relevant fixed versions and status.

The PKCS#11 feature in ssh-agent in OpenSSH before 9.3p2 has an insufficiently trustworthy search path, leading to remote code execution if an agent is forwarded to an attacker-controlled system. (Code in /usr/lib is not necessarily safe for loading into ssh-agent.) NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2016-10009.
