CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Oracle:6 php-xmlrpc to version 0:5.3.3-26.el6 or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2013-1615.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream php-xmlrpc package and not the php-xmlrpc package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:6 relevant fixed versions and status.

PHP before 5.3.4 accepts the \0 character in a pathname, which might allow context-dependent attackers to bypass intended access restrictions by placing a safe file extension after this character, as demonstrated by .php\0.jpg at the end of the argument to the file_exists function.
