CWE-863  (opens in a new tab)

This issue was patched in ELSA-2019-2591.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream ghostscript package and not the ghostscript package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

A flaw was found in ghostscript, versions 9.x before 9.50, in the setsystemparams procedure where it did not properly secure its privileged calls, enabling scripts to bypass -dSAFER restrictions. A specially crafted PostScript file could disable security protection and then have access to the file system, or execute arbitrary commands.
