How to fix?

Upgrade Oracle:8 python39-test to version 0:3.9.19-1.module+el8.10.0+90341+71ca88f4 or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2024-3466.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream python39-test package and not the python39-test package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

An issue was found in the CPython zipfile module affecting versions 3.12.1, 3.11.7, 3.10.13, 3.9.18, and 3.8.18 and prior.

The zipfile module is vulnerable to “quoted-overlap” zip-bombs which exploit the zip format to create a zip-bomb with a high compression ratio. The fixed versions of CPython makes the zipfile module reject zip archives which overlap entries in the archive.
