How to fix?

Upgrade Oracle:8 qemu-img to version 15:7.2.0-11.module+el8.9.0+90173+a3f3e83a or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2024-12276.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream qemu-img package and not the qemu-img package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

QEMU through 8.0.0 could trigger a division by zero in scsi_disk_reset in hw/scsi/scsi-disk.c because scsi_disk_emulate_mode_select does not prevent s->qdev.blocksize from being 256. This stops QEMU and the guest immediately.
