The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Test your applicationsUpgrade Oracle:9 rsync to version 0:3.2.5-7.el9_8.2 or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2026-19368.
Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream rsync package and not the rsync package as distributed by Oracle.
See How to fix? for Oracle:9 relevant fixed versions and status.
In rsync 3.0.1 through 3.4.1, receive_xattr relies on an untrusted length value during a qsort call, leading to a receiver use-after-free. The victim must run rsync with -X (aka --xattrs). On Linux, many (but not all) common configurations are vulnerable. Non-Linux platforms are more widely vulnerable.
