CVE-2023-42465  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Oracle:9 sudo to version 0:1.9.5p2-10.el9_3 or higher.
This issue was patched in ELSA-2024-0811.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream sudo package and not the sudo package as distributed by Oracle. See How to fix? for Oracle:9 relevant fixed versions and status.

Sudo before 1.9.15 might allow row hammer attacks (for authentication bypass or privilege escalation) because application logic sometimes is based on not equaling an error value (instead of equaling a success value), and because the values do not resist flips of a single bit.
