CWE-237  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:10 python3.13 to version 0:3.13.13-1.hum1 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2026:7443.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream python3.13 package and not the python3.13 package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:10 relevant fixed versions and status.

The "tarfile" module would still apply normalization of AREGTYPE (\x00) blocks to DIRTYPE, even while processing a multi-block member such as GNUTYPE_LONGNAME or GNUTYPE_LONGLINK. This could result in a crafted tar archive being misinterpreted by the tarfile module compared to other implementations.
