CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:6 ghostscript to version 0:8.70-11.el6_2.6 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2012:0095.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream ghostscript package and not the ghostscript package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:6 relevant fixed versions and status.

The gs_type2_interpret function in Ghostscript allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (incorrect pointer dereference and application crash) via crafted font data in a compressed data stream, aka bug 691043.
