CWE-269  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade RHEL:6 kernel-kdump to version 0:2.6.32-431.20.3.el6 or higher.
This issue was patched in RHSA-2014:0771.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream kernel-kdump package and not the kernel-kdump package as distributed by RHEL. See How to fix? for RHEL:6 relevant fixed versions and status.

The futex_requeue function in kernel/futex.c in the Linux kernel through 3.14.5 does not ensure that calls have two different futex addresses, which allows local users to gain privileges via a crafted FUTEX_REQUEUE command that facilitates unsafe waiter modification.
